My favorite part of the Anniversary Gala this year is not the cute singing by the group performing My Girl & Stupid Cupid , it is actually the opening. Why? Because one of my favorite couples, Bosco & Shirley got to perform as part of Man Chor street segment. At first, I thought it was Lai Lok Yi & Shirley, but after re-watching, I was like OMG lol. Bosco looks so dashingly handsome!! I am thinking that he & Shirley may be wearing similar clothing to Gordon & Kathy's roles in Time Before Time? Whatever it is, can we have a remake of Shanghai Bund or Time Before Time or some other Man Chor serie so that Bosco & Shirley can pair up once again? They look so gorgeous as a couple!!

It was so nicely done with Kathy Chow's themesong to In the Chamber of Bliss playing (although the lyrics changed), but the atmosphere and cinematography was extremely beautiful and romantic!! Even the lyrics were nicely done. And of course, my dear Bosco & Shirley was also performing as one of the couples. When it got to Bosco & Shirley onscreen, the lyrics say "roles going through with you"...and I was thinking how fitting it is since the actors & actresses live through their roles with each other (but I guess it was meaning more of the audience). Shirley's smile is so pretty when the screen was focusing on them and Bosco had kind of a sly smile, which made it all the more cute haha.

I am surprise they did not put Bosco with Myolie walking out for War of In Laws in the initial opening and not putting Shirley in the Miss. HK segment either. I am glad though because Bosco looks so darn handsome in that suit and specs! And he's pairing up with Shirley, who was so pretty too, so double bonus for me!! Hahah...I am such a fan girl still!! LOL

Astro on Demand 2008

Astro on Demand awards 2008 was actually aired earlier this year, but since I was lazy, I did not post anything. However, Bosco & Shirley did walk out on stage together at the beginning. It was interesting since, correct me if wrong, but I think while arriving on Red carpet, it was Ron & Shirley who came out and Bosco & Tavia. So they switch onstage?? lol Perhaps Ron & Tavia are more popular in Malaysia?

Ahhh...they are so cute together as a couple!! Can't TVB see that?? When can they be in another serie together??

Shirley Yeung won for My Favorite Villain from Sung Ka Yee of The Brink of Law, and she thanked Michelle Yim because it was her who helped her get into character. I thought that was so sweet sweet. I hope Michelle & Shirley will be able to cooperate again (and well with Bosco too haha!)

Bosco won for his character Lui To in The Price of Greed. When he was onstage, the MC's teased him saying that there is one person he needed to thank in the audience, and both Tavia & Shirley was gesturing Myolie, but Bosco cleverly said that he has to thank the person sitting next to Myolie, which is Shirley because she was his partner in the serie (actually his onscreen partner is really Kate though! lol). He ended up thanking Shirley a second time onstage too, making everyone laugh haha. It seems something is really going on with Myolie and Bosco - gotta be something with other artistes/friends pointing it out.

After a few months of deprived Bosco & Shirley news and pictures, a pic of them is seen in the 41st TVB Lighting Ceremony Group Picture. Shirley stands behind Bosco & Ron with a new haircut!! Reminds of Au Revoir Shanghai much? lol

Well actually, both Shirley and Bosco attended a few Moonlight Resonance promotions, but there was never any picture, so I was too lazy to post about them haha.

I just saw this news on lovebosco.net by member mui mui. Au Revoir Shanghai will air on August 12, 2008 as mentioned on TVB 剧集台 website.

Very happy to know since there may be a possibility of another promotional event with Bosco & Shirley! Bosco & Michael Mui are also quite good friends, so if there any promotional events, they will bring a fun atmosphere! I am a little curious whether Anne Heung would attend if there is a promotional event since she has left the entertainment circle already. I hope she would, but it would be hard to take a day off at her workplace. Imagine the boss's reaction when she says "Boss, can I take a day or two off to promote a Hong Kong TV show I was a main lead in?"

I remember Au Revoir Shanghai is an ok serie, and I thought it was very interesting towards the beginning, but I didn't like it as much as the serie progressed. Nonetheless, the Bosco & Shirley scenes were cute, but I didn't quite like their relationship in this serie because Shirley's character spent a majority of the time with Power Chan's character.

Hope to see the cast promote the serie in August!

In past news, it seems that a bunch of TVB artistes went to Virginia Lok's bday party on July 1st, and Bosco and Shirley both attended. No pics of them together though.

Bosco & Shirley TVB8 Program 6/8/08

Finally, Bosco & Shirley meet again filming for a TVB8 Program called 娛樂金剛圈, and they took some pics together outside of the program! The pictures and articles do not show them playing any games together so that's too bad, but heck, pictures are better than nothing! :)

Bosco sure looks skinnier! His hairstyle reminds me of his character in The Price of Greed though! Shirley looks cute as usual!

hmm....I've noticed that in many pictures, Bosco & Shirley doesn't seem that close as compared to say Bosco & Tavia or Bosco & Myolie. Bosco & Shirley seem very distant. Through so many cooperations and appearances together, I would've thought they were be somewhat friends, but in many pictures, it doesn't seem to show?

Well I hope they would pair up again in another serie, but a serie that is worth it. I would rather wait for a great script and a good couple storyline for them to portray. When they pair up again, I hope it would be an awesome serie that showcase their chemistry and put them up there as TVB top couples. Well, they have to shorten that distance between each other to do so, but I do hope they can one day!

Olympics Related Functions

There are some group functions that Bosco & Shirley both attended, but so far, I can't find any pictures of them.

One was on 4/29, and a bunch of TVB artists as well as HK singers sang the TVB Olympic song to celebrate the coming of the Olympic torch. Then on 5/2, there is also another function that both will attend to welcome the Olympic torch as part of a big group from TVB. No pictures from both as of now, but I suspect these events will focus a lot more on the HK singers and movie stars moreso than TVB peeps.

Known as Heart of Greed 2, there was a catwalk function with Tavia, Linda Chung, Shirley Yeung, Kate Tsui, etc on 3/28/08. All the gals wore traditional red chi paos. So what does it have to do with Bosco and Shirley? Well it turns out that Bosco was at the event also. I don't think Shirley and Bosco had any pics together, but hey, at least they both showed up at the events. Ok, yes I am a little crazy about them, but this blog site won't have any updates at all if I do not pay attention lah lol. If there are any pics of them together, then of course I will repost.

Since Bosco's Mandarin isn't really good, it seems like he's looking to Shirley for help at times to explain haha. I was watching those Chinese New Year shows in which astrologers talk about the year for different signs. The Chinese astrology fortune for horse (which is Shirley's sign) says it might not be a good year, but one astrologer says things might be a little bit better if they are around people born in the sign of the monkey (which is Bosco's sign). So Shirley, hang out more with Bosco haha! :)

Bosco & Shirley new serie & tidbits

Bosco and Shirley are in another serie (Heart of Greed 2), but I believe they will most likely not have any scenes. Shirley plays young Li See Kei's character in the past, while Bosco plays a doctor who chases after Linda Chung's character in present times. So it is very likely, they will not share any scenes together. It's sad for us fans, but perhaps they will have more functions together for this serie?

Back again, and there are some good news.... The Price of Greed is going to be un-shelved and aired on Pay Channel! Anyway, the good thing about this is that there just might be more promotions for this serie, and thus more potential pictures of Bosco & Shirley. Bad news is that for the first function, I have not seen any pictures of just the two of them together, but I still have hope! There are pics of them at the same function, I guess it is better than nothing.

I noticed Bosco & Shirley chatting when they aren't filming in some scenes. It's nice to know that they are somewhat friends and not the type that doesn't talk to each other at all.

Bosco Wong & Shirley Yeung - My Favorite Couple

Over the years watching TVB series, I have many favorite TVB couples, from classic ones to Louis Koo & Jessica and Michael Tao & Kenix Kwok to younger couple pairings of today such as Ron & Leila and Bosco & Tavia. However, I will have to focus on these other couples at a later date. Today, I'll like to focus on the couple that is at the top of my personal favorites as of this year.

Bosco & Shirley was not a very popular TVB couple and is still not a very popular couple nowadays, but they are at the top of my favorite young TVB couple list. Most of their series are either shelved (Au Revoir Shanghai, The Price of Greed) or raved as the Worst series made for that year (Au Revoir Shanghai, Devil's Disciple). And when I first heard they were casted to be in series together like Au Revoir Shanghai and The Price of Greed, I wasn't interested at all. They weren't a couple I cared for then, it was like whatever. However, I guess it was a boring summer day or whatnot, that I somehow watched a Shirley and Bosco fanvideo of them in Devils' Disciple on Youtube with the themesong of The Whitehair Maiden playing. The way the video was made along with the music really captivated my attention. I was thinking, well someone made this nice video of them together, so the story of their relationship in the series must be very, very romantic and good. Well, obviously I was wrong....but I digress, I should continue on with my story. So I decided to watch Devil's Disciple. Not only was Shirley not in the series in the beginning for like the first 9-10 episodes, but Bosco never loved her! I guess the only good thing was that they got married and had a kid in the end, and I deduced that he grew to love her eventually, but man, the scene in which he confronted Bernice about marrying Shirley was heartbreaking. Bosco's eyes were like screaming, "I don't want too, but I have too. I love you (to Bernice) but I have to be responsible." (Good job for Bosco really, but absolutely killed Shirley & Bosco as a couple in there). But anyway, I watched on, hoping that they would maybe have more scenes to show Bosco falling in love with Shirley, but nope, throughout the rest of the serie, it was just like watching him respectfully interacting with a friend. So yeah, eventually they had a good ending, but it wasn't exactly a relationship that's worth rooting for. It was a pity though, because they looked absolutely beautiful as an ancient couple (if you don't look at Bosco's hair in the back) and when Bosco wore white along with Shirley. They look gorgeous together, so it was sad they didn't have a good love story to back them up as a couple. But even though their story sucked, I just had to see whether they have any chemistry in previous series because their chemistry in here was pretty much close to non-existent although they look beautiful together. So I watched Au Revoir Shanghai.

Now in Au Revoir Shanghai, their story together isn't too bad except Shirley's character liked Power Chan's character for like 3/4 of the whole series, while Bosco was just having a crush on her. They had very few interactions as a couple, but more as just friends most of the time, but nonetheless they had some cute scenes together. So there is hope! In this one, they had a happy ending, but I was not happy about their development as a couple. It was so sudden how she liked Power Chan for such a long time, and then liked Bosco. It just seems like Shirley liked Bosco just because he got hurt and sacrificed a lot. It's like she switched roles with him in Devils' Disciple haha. But nonetheless, I do think they both liked each other a lot towards the end. Horrible haircuts though, but my conclusion afterwards was that, there's hope because they were cute as a couple. Then, I moved onto The Price of Greed.

I really didn't expect that much from The Price of Greed, but this serie pretty much sealed the deal for me actually. It wasn't that their love relationship was written that great. It was actually pretty much one-sided since Bosco treats Shirley as just his sister in the entire serie even though they're not really brothers and sisters with the same blood. Shirley plays a mute girl in this serie, so they had to communicate by sign language and other means. But when they interact in the serie, I find that they do have some chemistry together! Even though their relationship is mostly platonic throughout the serie, the way he hugs her or touches her face, or how she looks at him are all very simple gestures, but yet they seem so comfortable and nice together, like they understand each other very well when they are alone. I think it can be very, very romantic how there's no conversation and the couple is relaxed and comfortable with each other...off in their own world. Their chemistry isn't the type that is explosive, but it's somewhat like a baby fire slowly burning. It's not as strong yet, but it's definitely there so I think if they were given another opportunity with a better storyline to work with, they just might be the next popular admired couple at TVB.

I have watched Find the Light years ago, but Shirley and Bosco do not end up together. I kind of want to watch again just to see if they have any nice scenes together, but then I remember I loved Bosco and Tavia in that serie (in which I thought BoTa was a very promising couple), So yes, I have faith in my Bosco and Shirley, one day, hopefully they will make heads turn!

However, it's interesting to note, other than Find the Light, in all 3 series, Au Revoir, Price of Greed, and Devils' Disciple, Bosco and Shirley had a younger counterpart story. In Au Revoir, they were little kids playing with the radio....in Price of Greed, they grew up together.....in Devils' Disciple, I believe there was a scene in which Bosco’s younger version helped saved her or calmed her. And plus, all four series they acted in together were ancient! I thought that was pretty interesting. I would like to see them in a modern serie. Despite being two years older than Bosco in reality, Shirley actually looks the same age or younger than him so it should be ok.

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic with this couple, but I do hope that maybe they would prove me right in the not too distant future. But even if not, I enjoyed their scenes together as a couple in past series, and they did play an initial part in pushing my drive to start this blog and update my other one.

Really unexpected that they got to play a game together! They even were on the same team! They had to put as much grapes as they could into their mouth and spit them out after. They ended up tying so Shirley and Angela had to compete against each other. Bosco even try to cheat by putting grapes into the bowl lol.

What are the odds? Bosco poses right in front of Tavia and Shirley, my favorite TVB female actresses that I like the most pairing up with him. Tavia and Bosco has wonderful chemistry together as a couple and is currently one of the very popular couples at TVB now. While Shirley have filmed a lot of series with Bosco as a couple or potential couple.

Searching for Bosco & Shirley MVs on Youtube, most of their MVs have to do with Au Revoir Shanghai. Perhaps it is the only serie they get to have more romantic scenes with. I think they were cute in this serie, but their relationship just wasn’t written as well as it could be.

I don't think they have any pictures or scenes together (I wish they would), but they look gorgeous!

They were both revealed as part of the Top 5 finalists for Mainland Favorite TVB Male Actors and Mainland Favorite TVB Female Actress respectively. They didn't win, but Shirley was the only younger actress (from the generation of Myolie, Bernice, Tavia, Leila, etc.) out of the top 5. Too bad they didn't take any pictures together of the top 10 finalists.

-Bosco and Shirley were going to perform together for TVB's anniversary in 2004, but during one of the practice sessions, Shirley accidentally fell and so she was taken to the hospital. It seems like she wanted to continue on with the performance like Bosco said in an article, but couldn't after all because Nancy Wu took her place in the real performance.
